I’m excited to introduce my latest project, Unveiling Fatima, a short film that explores the theme of self-discovery against the backdrop of cultural expectations. This story delves into the journey of a woman who, like many, has been following a pre-determined path set by family and tradition. Through a series of unplanned and emotionally charged experiences, she begins to see the possibility of a life that she can shape herself.
Synopsis: The story follows Fatima, a woman who has never questioned the path laid out for her—until a transformative encounter awakens her to new emotions and possibilities. For the first time, Fatima feels liberated, facing a powerful realization about her own autonomy. Unveiling Fatima brings to light the internal conflict many face between adhering to expectations and pursuing the life they truly desire. This is a story that speaks to hidden desires, missed connections, and the courage to redefine one's future.
Why This Story Matters: Through Unveiling Fatima, we aim to challenge stereotypes often associated with Middle Eastern women and celebrate the universal yearning for self-discovery. Fatima’s journey is a testament to the power of change, no matter how small, and how it can ripple outward to inspire others. She symbolizes hope for those who wish to reclaim their lives and identity.
Our Goal: To bring Unveiling Fatima to life, we need to raise €15,000. This budget will allow us to fully realize the story’s setting, themes, and authenticity by covering essential costs:
Location Rentals: Capture North Cyprus's stunning landscapes as both a setting and metaphor for Fatima’s own transformation.
Set and Costume Design: Portray Fatima’s world with cultural accuracy and vivid detail.
Professional Crew and Equipment: Ensure a high-quality production that does justice to this powerful narrative.
Post-Production and Festival Submissions: Enhance our film's reach and visibility to share Fatima's story with a wider audience.

Fatima has always followed a predestined life that was decided by others and society, and never thought of the option of deciding about her own life.

Fatima takes on the role of being an example for the other women going through the same thing as she reflects her transformation and has to decide if she wants to take the steps toward reclaiming her life.

This budget will cover essential production costs: location rentals, set design, equipment rentals, costumes, professional crew, post-production, and festival submissions.
